Art has been my passion since childhood, and my profession for over 33 years. Growing up in the beautiful red rock mountains of Sedona Arizona greatly influenced my creativity. I am a fourth generation native of Arizona and currently reside in a tranquil desert community near Sedona. Being surrounded by the beauty of nature at every turn does wonderful things for the spirit and inspires my palette.
I have taken art classes at Weber State College ( Ogden Utah), Holyoke College ( Holyoke Massachusetts), Scottsdale Community College ( Scottsdale Arizona), Instituto de Allende ( San Miguel de Allende Mexico), and apprenticed for two years at the prestigious Rush Studio in Scottsdale Arizona with Kathrin Rush Straub. My art has been displayed in many places including the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington DC and at the Heard Museum in Phoenix. I have taught painting and clay classes at various times throughout my career. Being able to help people unlock and discover their creativity is a wonderful thing.
Drawing, painting and sculpture were the mainstays of my earlier work. Recently I became interested in silk painting and began learning about fabric art. My southwest design scarves are offered in two sizes, 8’ x 54’ and 11’ x 60’. All are hand painted and signed.
